This bike is a '55 Zundapp, before it was totally re-worked and painted a bright red. The Zundapp was 500cc twin horizontally opposed twin, made by BMW (Bavarian Motor Works) with drive shaft. It was one awesome motorcycle that was nearly destroyed after I had sold it just a month before clearing post, in a drag race at Decamere on the old airport strip racing against the clock - high-speed shimmy at 160k! I know because I was laying down flat out with the odometer/speedometer right beneath my face! When it happened! |
This bike is a '47 Triumph single-cylinder 350 that
had been fitted with a Guzzi rear suspension. At one time I owned them both, paid 100 am for the Triumph and 400 am for the Zundapp. |
