Kagnew Station Little League Activity
by J. W. Thornton

The coaches decided to postpone Friday's and Saturday's games because of the long holiday weekend when many little leaguers and their families would be out of town. That old Flu bug struck down so many Gazelles and Braves that their Monday game had to be postponed also. That left us with only one game for this reporting period but it was a lulu!!!

The Braves and Gems went
at it Wednesday and such a massacre has not been seen since the Little Big Horn! The Gems, led by pitcher Dave Pelletier, could do no wrong and the hapless Braves, alas, could do no right.

Gem Pitcher Dave Pelletier allowed only one hit and also collected hitting honors by going 6 for 6 at the plate, including one grand slam homer. Bob McCoy and Tim Shearin each hit 4 for 6 while Mark Dee hit 5 for 6 including a home run.
The Braves used pitchers Pete Muncie, Milton Prince and Steve McCarthy in a futile attempt to stem the tide. Final score, which the Braves would like to forget — Gems 38, Braves 2.
