Kagnew Station Gazelle Page |
![]() |
| As you know, in addition to reading the
military newspaper the Stars & Stripes, we at Kagnew were lucky enough to
have our own post newspaper. On this page we would like to present copies,
pieces, whatever we can salvage of any copies that our readers have found. The
first Gazelle that someone sent me was from the month that I arrived there so
it was pretty exciting reading it. As time permits and I can put the pages
together, you will be able to go back and read these issues. If you have any
stashed out there, how about sharing them with us? Note: I will be scanning some Gazelles in Adobe PDF ( |

She was one of the first disk jockeys for the radio station. In January 1951 she was working as a disk jockey when the station was located in a temporary trailer next to the PX. She worked in the front section (merchandise section) of the PX. Note that in this Gazelle she was an instructor for a group study class in Conversational Italian. Pages [1] [4] [5] [6] NOTE: This is a multiple page listing of everyone who was stationed at Kagnew Christmas 1970, according to the Gazelle staff. There may be missing names, but those people would have to come forward to indicate they were there at the time. I have no means of verifying the information here, it is simply scanned from the original Gazelle. There were no name listings on pages 2 & 3. |
